Ballou Window Replacement and Exterior Painting Project in Milwaukie

Mr. Ballou is a 70-year-old disabled widower who has lived in his home for the past 43 years. Over time, the home has fallen into significant disrepair, and due to physical limitations, he is no longer able to maintain it on his own. His daughter and grandchildren also live in the home, making the need for repairs even more urgent.
Earlier this year, Catalyst and our incredible partners replaced Mr. Ballou’s failing roof. Now, volunteers are returning to continue restoring the exterior of the home and help provide a safer, healthier place for the family to live.
For this phase of the project, volunteers will:

  • Replace old windows with new energy-efficient windows to help lower heating and cooling costs
  • Repair and replace deteriorated siding
  • Paint the home a fresh new color

This project is about more than home repairs—it’s about restoring dignity, stability, and hope for a family that has called this house home for more than four decades.
